FAQ

What is a boudoir session?

A boudoir session is an intimate style of photography that through the use of lighting, posing, and angles captures the subject in a way that looks flattering. It is a very confidence-boosting experience and typically involves little to no clothing. The photos are very tasteful, with nudity usually being only implied.

What is the purpose of boudoir photos?

Boudoir Photos are for celebrating you! They reflect your beauty, sensuality, and the goddess within. Many women feel confident in a way that they haven't felt in a long time after their session.

Boudoir photos are very special because they are there for you to look back on in 20, 30, 50 years time and reflect on the special person you were at that point in your life.

Is boudoir photography worth it?

While many women have boudoir photos done initially as a gift for their significant other, at the end of the day all of my clients value the photos for what they do for them. I've had many clients tell me that their boudoir images are more special than their wedding photos due to the fact that they feel more beautiful in their boudoir photos than in their wedding photos. They want to pull them out and look at them again and again. The biggest excuse I hear is "Well, what am I going to do with them? I'm not going to put them on the coffee table for guests to view." Boudoir photos aren't for other people. They are for you to enjoy however you like. To feel beautiful and confident.

If you believe you're worth that then it is 100% worth it.

How does a boudoir shoot work?

We will initially schedule your 20-minute phone consultation via text/email. During your phone consultation, we will discuss the session and everything that goes with it. At this time we will schedule your in-person consultation, and you will pay your booking fee.

At your in-person consultation, you’ll come in, see our studio, meet me in person, and get to try on outfits. You will get to pick two outfits to be fitted for that you will get to wear at your session and keep.

On the day of your photoshoot, a professional stylist will do your hair and makeup, and you'll be provided with a gift card to your choice of a number of restaurants in the area to enjoy a meal at after your session.

Throughout the shooting process, I will provide professional posing guidance so you look absolutely fabulous in every single image. We work with women of all different shapes and sizes and know exactly how to photograph you so that you fall in love with every single image.

After your session, you will attend your Boudie Buying appointment. This is where you will come back to our studio and make your purchasing decisions.  It's a 2-hour session and you’ll get to view all of your photos fully edited. There will be 80-120+ photos to choose from. We’ll work together to design custom products using your images from your shoot.

Note: We can do an in-person consultation via zoom, and the Boudie Buying appointment the same day as the photo session for out of town clients.

Is boudoir photography safe?

Our studio has an all-female team. We are focused on your comfort and safety at all times. We provide a secluded professional shooting space in North Austin.

We will allow you to bring an escort to your in-person consultation, or session if you would feel more comfortable. During the actual shoot though (which is about 2 hours) they will be required to stay in the hair and makeup room.

You as the client have full say on the level of nudity you feel comfortable with. The majority of our work is fairly conservative, as you can see on our home page. You will also be able to determine which images you do or do not want us to be able to share via print/digital.

How much does boudoir photography cost?

Our regular session fee is $500 (or you can put down $1000 towards your products when you book and we will waive the $500 session fee).

This includes a private 2-hour photo session in our North Austin studio, professional styling provided by our amazing hair and makeup team, 2 Free outfits that you get to wear and keep, a $25 Gift Card to a number of restaurants in the area to enjoy a meal at after your session, and a viewing and ordering appointment where you'll get to view 80-120 of your best photos fully retouched.

On average our clients invest between $3,000-$5,000 on their luxury boudoir products. We offer affordable payment plans for our luxury photo packages which include heirloom albums, digitals, wall art, and more. Our in-house payment plans start at $250 per month.

We now offer FINANCING through AFFIRM, so you can receive your products now and pay over time. This is our most popular payment option as it only requires a credit score of 640, and performs a soft credit check so it won't affect your credit score. Many of our clients are able to get their payments below $100 per month. Learn More about financing your session photo products with Affirm HERE.

What do I need to bring to my boudoir session?

Check out our blog for resources on what to bring to your boudoir session. We recommend lingerie items in red, black, royal blue, green, pink, and white (if you're doing them as a wedding gift). Bodysuits, corsets, and bra/panty sets are great! Be sure to bring heels as well as jewelry. We do have a client closet with over 300 pieces that fit sizes XS-XXXL

We provide false lashes with hair and makeup.

How far in advance do I need to book my boudoir session?

Your session will take place within 3 months of your booking date - unless you choose to get on a payment plan.

If you're paying upfront or financing with AFFIRM and need your photos for a specific event it is recommended you do your session at least 3 months in advance of the date you need your photos by.

Our in-house payment plans range from 6 months to 24 months depending on which package you purchase. You will receive your images 4-6 weeks after the final payment has been processed.

If you're getting married my recommendation is to reach out about scheduling your boudoir session at least a year in advance of your wedding if you think you're going to want to do a payment plan.
